Christchurch, New Zealand

One of my work trip to Christchurch in January (haha!). Decided to take a walk in the city central instead of the usual resort area we are staying in and I'm glad I did!

Christchurch is still basically a work-in-progress. It's a small city and they are still renovating the area so you can easily finish the whole area in about 2-3 hours. I felt so sad for the residents staying there. And it also made me realised how fortunate we are as Singaporeans. The whole place took so long to renovate was due to the insufficient fund and the weakening ground so you can see there are lots of destroyed buildings and huge vacant space all over the city.

I particulary loved the concept of the 185 Empty White Chair. They are chairs used by the victims during the 22 February 2011 earthquake. It evoked a lot of emotions in me when I was there, facing a sea of white and just walking through rows and rows of chairs (There are even baby chair there!).

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed the visuals!
