Woke up early in the morning to prepare myself and rushed for all the must see attractions. First stop, Colosseum.
Oh, we bought the hop on hop off bus tickets. It's kinda popular in Europe. A lot of different country has it. It's actually quite cool given that it's a double decker bus and they provide you with a personal earpiece so you are able to attach it to the wall and listen to the history of the attractions. Plus, it comes in different languages so it actually suits everyone!
Yes, yes, yes.. approaching Vatican City!!!!
Since we were already at Vatican and Vatican is a country by itself, we decided to explore it a little more. We paid for the express guided tour (about 30euro) and went for a 3 hours tour, inclusive of the famous sistine chapel. There will be a lot of people outside asking you to join their tour. Please negotiate the price! And also, bring your student pass along if you have, it will be so much cheaper.
The old entrance, which is no longer in use.
The last supper replica.
The ceiling is damn nice. I love it so so much.
The Muse of Tragedy
The famous Belvedere Torso!
Haha, this is damn funny. Look at the amount of boobs she has. But oh well, she is the god of fertility.
A drawing of what it was supposed to be like in the sistine chapel, when they are choosing a new Pope.
Another beautiful ceiling! Love them so much!! And these are where the Pope's area, that's why it's so pretty and colourful.
Theres about 500+ steps and we cheated a little. We took the elevator for 200+ steps and climb the other 300+ steps. It's super handwork and tiring but it was totally worth it. This is the image I was looking for and I found it. So happy so so happy please!!!
BIRD EYE VIEW OF VATICAN CITY.
And this is the image you always see when they introduce Vatican. I love it. One and a half year ago, I remembered the interviewers asking us where is one destination we would like to go to and why. And here I am, at Vatican City, one and a half year later. I chose Vatican as I was very intrigued by Da Vinci Code and Demon & Angel by Dan Brown. I am amazed by it's history and population and how such a small country can survive on it's own. So small yet so rich in it's history and beliefs. Time like this, I am really grateful for my job and the opportunities it has given me. So blessed!
Yup, need to cover shoulder and knee and what's not.
The famous Sistine Chapel. No photo taking allowed but I just snapped one quickly so pardon the poor quality! It was really beautiful tho.
Guard.
By then, it was around quite late.. say 6pm? We quickly make our way out and head to Fontana di Trevi.
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do"
Well, it is rumoured that if you made a wish and throw it through the left side hard enough, you will return to Rome again and your wish will come true too. Followed their tradition and made a wish, hope it come true and I will be given the long stay Rome soon! I have more places to go!
Tried their famous Pistachio gelato. Yums.
And ended our night with dinner and a walk past the Colosseum.
Rome is indeed beautiful. I love it so so much. I love all the history, all the story telling and all the architecture. Every street, every attraction and basically everywhere is a good backdrop for a good potd.
"Rome is not built in a day" - totally. All their buildings were build by many different people. One generation started it and the next continued. And till today, they are still constantly upgrading and maintaining its structure and ensuring everything is in good condition. It was indeed a good trip.
Till the next! xx
Hi babe! You look really great with this haircut. Just wondering where do you normally have your haircut in singapore and how much is it? Thank you in advance~!
ReplyDeleteHello! Thank you, too kind of you. I usually got it cut in FEP level 5 FormulaCut. My hairstylist is Gary. Err, I usually do the cut + treatment so it ranges from 50-100+ depending on what I do. Hope this helps! :D
