My last work trip before my annual leave was to Rome and boy, was I excited. It's really hard to get Rome and I'm really grateful to have it before my rest. Freshen ourselves once we reached the hotel so that we can catch the 3 hours train ride to Pisa.
The metro we had to take before arriving at the train station, Roma Termini.
Well, since our hotel provides shuttle bus to the city area, we took it. The speed train leaves every 2 hours and we had to catch the earliest as the journey is long (to and fro is 6hrs+) and so we had to make sure the timing is right. But who knows, the drop off point is no where near the metro and we had to run to the train station (which is damn far!) in our Pradas, Chanels and whats not. The image is damn hilarious. We were like a group of people all dressed up with cameras and make up and jogging in broad daylight. Anyway, we managed to catch the metro and the train and yes, let the journey begins! :D
1157hours. Thats about 6pm in Singapore? We were drained and tired and hungry but how can we say no to one of the wonders of the world?
Pisa Centrale.
So, if you are in Rome the next time, you can always take a train to Pisa Centrale, where the leaning tower of Pisa is. The price of the tickets ranges, depending on class, the speed of the train and whether its a direct train. Ours was 42euro and 23euro respectively. It took us about 3 hours to reach Pisa and about 4 hours back.
The weekend flea market.
Looks like Amsterdam right? So pretty! Love it.
Adorable. You can try one there but we walked all the way. It's tiring but its worth it. The view and all, its amazing.
Well, I do not know why but I'm very unlucky in the sense that I always arrive in Europe station on a Sunday. I know right, burnt my weekends in Singapore and when I'm in the station, all shops are closed. Yes, Sundays in Europe are considered family days and the shops are either not opened or closed around mid noon. Such a bummer. So well, it's already about 3-4pm (singapore 10pm) when we reached this restaurant. Nobody was there but we had no choice because we were so hungry and everywhere were closing so we just settled for it but luckily, it turned out well! So happy tummy, happy us!
lo and behold..
LEANING TOWER OF PISA!!!!
Torre Penedente di Pisa.
Whole set of non ranking economy crew and our first officer at Pisa.
Pisa's Cathedral Square, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
Rushed off at 6pm to catch our train at about 7pm. Took us about 4 hours+ and then another 30mins or so to reach the hotel. By the time we popped into bed it's already 1am, oh my god. Anyway, saw this super big furry dog when we were walking back. I swear he was so big, he's taller than me if he were to stand!
Yup, that's all for our adventure in Pisa. So happy to have another wonder of the world checked! ✔️
