San Antonio, Texas, USA

Most exciting trip for the whole 11 days! Our journey to San Antonio. It's a 3 hours ride from Houston. But our journey was met with a lot of obstacles. Like literally!! Firstly, our one and only driver overslept. So we decided to settle the car while she prepares. But to our horror, the company had no confirmation of our booking and it was too last minute to get a small car. The next availability was a 10 seater car which was triple the cost of the small car. Desperately, we begged the concierge to try another car rental company for us. And yes, we managed to get one after an hour of agony. While paying for the car, we realised that there's no GPS in the car and they do not have any available ones left. Oh my tian. The disappointment and helplessness in our faces - epic. Luckily, the couple behind us was returning their car and GPS. Phew! And our journey begins..

Decided to make Enchanted Rock our first destination (It's about 1.5h away from San Antonio). And we were glad we did. A nice scenery place which we found online turned out to be a three hour hike up the mountain. Look at where we were wearing. One of them in heels and the other in skirts. Hahaha. But it was indeed too beautiful to be missed.

Enchanted Rock is also known as batholith - a large rounded dome of granite that formed as a pocket of magma under the surface of the Earth. Estimates place the occurrence of this formation at up to 1 billion years ago and the rock here is some of the oldest to be found in North America. Over time the surrounding limestone, a type of rock that more quickly erodes, began to weather away until the granite formation has finally begun to appear above the surface.

Okay lar, the view was indeed good when we finally arrived at the Moses Lake for the view. Definitely worth the 3 hours hike up and down and almost killing ourselves in the process.

Headed back to San Antonio as the sun was setting (and we were all too exhausted from the hike). The night view of San Antonio was breathtaking! The famous River Walk in San Antonio.

Settled our dinner at one of the eateries along RiverWalk. It has similar concept to The Boiling Crab. The food was really nice and the portion was really big. We only ordered these 2 dishes for the 4 of us!

By then it's about 10pm and all of us rushed back to the car and continue our journey home. I want to explore more! Definitely going back if I have another Houston!

Anyway, here's a short clip of our hike!
