Europe Trip 2015 (III)

Hello! I'm back with the last leg of my Europe trip - PARIS :D

After London, we went on to Paris via Eurostar, which is a pretty common route! It's really convenient and it's about 2 hours but if you are keen in scenic view, you can opt for the bus option which is longer but you can view the scenery and its surroundings while the Eurostar took the English tunnel.

Pont de Bir-Hakeim. "Inception" the movie was filmed here! And you get a good view of Eiffel from here so it's definitely a good choice to stop here and then walk over to the tower itself.

MY FAVOURITE IN PARIS <3

31 / Coco Chanel. The first Chanel store and the one and only store that provide a white paper bag with black wordings on it! (The rest are all black with white wordings)

Yummy macaron. They introduced a new flavour - truffle macaron and it taste so good! Please try if you chanced upon it!

The one and only Mona Lisa.

What's left on the love lock bridge.

Climbed an infinity amount of steps to finally get this gorgeous view of Paris. But it was worth it, so worth it.

On our second last day, we went to the happiest place on planet Earth - DISNEYLAND PARIS!

The sleeping beauty castle.
If you find this castle familiar, yes you are right. Whenever we watch any Walt Disney film and they will have this little fairy fly out of the castle before the movie starts right? Yep! This is that castle!

The laser/firework show lasted for about 30 minutes and it's super interesting! I LOVE IT.

Parisians and their weekend market in the metro station haha.

Ended the trip with a good and tradition cafe in Paris - Cafe Flore.

I love how the servers are dressed to the nines - all in bow ties and suit with a handkerchief on their arm. It's so charming! I love it so much. The hot chocolate is super awesome as well. But of course, cafe with such service and reputation comes with a hefty price tag but it's still worth it!

Yep, that's the end of my two weeks long Europe trip with my family.
Thank you for reading and I will keep y'all posted on more of my travels. Or for more often updates, follow me on my instagram @wongmalissa. See you soon!

Europe Trip 2015 (II)

Hello! I'm back with more visuals pertaining to my Europe trip! :D

After London, we went on to Milan via Paris. Took a 10 hour night train to Milan and it was the biggest shock of our lives when we were in our cabin.

Yes, this is how the cabin looked like. I mean......??
And I'm glad I bought the 4 people sharing bunk. Can you imagine how bad the 6 people sharing bunk will look like? Oh my god.

Arrived at Milano central and went ahead to Duomo.
Oh, but the way, Milan was kind of a day trip for us. We were there for a day (since Milan itself does not have much to do/sightsee), we looked at what we wanted to see and off we went to Rome.

Duomo and the gloomy sky. It was raining throughout the night so it was pretty cold and damp.

Bought tickets to the roof of duomo and we got the wrong ones! We ended up with steps from the first floor up and it was such a torture, not only for my mom but us as well!! :( And tickets were non exchangeable! What a bummer!! :(

Duomo's interior.

Didn't take much pictures as I was there during the beginning of the year.

We went on to look at the original painting of The Last Supper. It was a nice little tour and it's amazing how much meaning this painting has in it.

Family picture! :D

And then we took the train to Rome. And yes, it's during this time I found out that I lost my wallet with 1.2k Euros in it. I was devastated. I mean.. I have been travelling for my whole career (and that's about 4 years??) and I never lose a single cent and during my holiday, I had to lose 1.2k worth of Euros??!!! *insert weeping emoticons*

But nonetheless, Milan will always be a special place to me. It's the first station I ever travelled to with someone that holds a special place in me.

*
And off we go to the ancient city, Rome!

Rome itself is a pretty small city and so we opt for the Hop On Hop Off bus which goes to all the attraction.

Roman Forum.

And nope, I didn't climb up to the dome. Only my sister did as I went up before. Shared about my Rome trip in earlier post when I was there for a work trip.

Cute little guards in Vatican.

I just had to post for a photo with the post box because it was closed again :(
Do remember to send yourself a post card when you are in Vatican City. It is one of the smallest countries in the world and it has a different stamp as compared to Rome.

Spanish steps. So many people were sitting there, you can't even take a proper picture.

And if you are wondering why there's no pictures of Trevi Fountain, it's due to it being under renovation. If I'm not wrong, it's opened again. Oh, and there's a very popular gelato joint near the Fountain so look out for it! :D

Woke up pretty early to explore the lost city... POMPEII

*cues music*
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all..

The first sight that greeted us. I was so so so excited despite the super hot weather.
It was like a dream come true! I wanted to go to Pompeii so so much.

But then again, it was just lanes and lanes of ruins so it could be quite disappointing for some.

Oh and this is the brothel. Look at those erotic painting that's craved all over the rooms and yep, the picture above is how the room looks like. One small room, with one bed and one window. Hahaha!

And that ended my Pompeii trip. I don't know about the others but it was indeed eye opening for me. After traveling for so long, I realised I really really love to travel. Not only do I love to travel to tourist attractions, I love places like these. I love to read about their culture, what happened and just how amazing the nature and the world is, how cruel humans are to each other and such.. aww, the wonderful things travel does to one.

Pretty sunrise to set the day bright and good! Off to Venice!

I was beyond amazed when I was in Venice. The first sight that greeted us once we were out of the train station was a... CANAL??? I mean yes, I understand Venice is made out of canals and water but I didn't expect it to be so immediate.

The legit Bridge of Sighs aka Venezia Ponte Dei Sospiri.
This is where the prisoners get the last view of Venice before imprisonment.

We then took an hour boat ride to Burano, the most colorful and happiest island on Earth.

Went for a granola ride just before sunset to get the most out of it. We paid about 80 euros for a half hour ride. Yes, it was crazily expensive but it was totally worth it. And our gondolier even sang for us. So happy, hehe, it made the whole trip so beautiful and it was how I visualised it to be like! :)

#likeaboss

Of course I need to buy a mask in Venice!!!!!

All the world's a stage.

*
And on our final day in Italy, we went on to Pisa before going back to Paris..

Leaning tower of Pisa.

And we found a place to had coffee. They are a small little quaint shop that specialise in coffee so their drinks were really aromatic and flavourful. I love it!

That's all for now folks! Will update on the last leg of my Europe trip (City of Love) soonest! xx
